Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Prof. Dr. Hajredin Kuçi, today held a meeting with the new Head of EULEX, the German diplomat Bernd Borchardt, whom he welcomed and wished success in his new post. In this meeting present was the Head of the EU Office, respectively the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar.
Besides the introductory character, this meeting was intended to also discuss on the continuation of the good cooperation that exists between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, namely the Ministry of Justice and the EULEX mission.
It was talked about the judicial system, the rule of law and order, as well as the fight against organized crime and corruption, while Minister Kuqi requested the continuation of cooperation and coordination of activities between the Ministry of Justice and EULEX in achieving as many results as possible in the above mentioned areas.
The new Chief of EULEX, Borchardt, pledged an ongoing commitment and cooperation, in order to have a more functional justice system in Kosovo, rule of law and fight against organized crime and corruption.
At the meeting, it was also discussed on the coordination about the next meeting regarding the visa liberalization and the structured dialogue.
