SKKK is the executive security agency, which functions within the Ministry of Justice. SKKK is responsible for:

• The organization, implementation and supervision of the execution of the prison sentence in accordance with the legislation in force;
• The organization, implementation and supervision of the imprisonment of minors and educational measures in IK unless the Juvenile Justice Code provides otherwise;
• Implementation of the detention measure according to the Code of Criminal Procedure;
• Undertaking security measures to provide a safe and suitable environment for life and work;
• Undertaking actions to maintain order, discipline and protection of property in correctional institutions of the SCK;
• Assessing the risk and treatment needs of prisoners;
• Planning, organization, implementation and supervision of programs that contribute to the resocialization of prisoners;
• Encouraging, motivating and developing work skills and abilities for prisoners;
• The development of economic activity and the creation of income through the economic unit of the SKK;
• Motivating and creating opportunities for education and professional training for prisoners;
• The professional development of the KSK staff;
• Realization of cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations that deal with the issue of monitoring the rights of prisoners;
• Guidance and support to convicted persons regarding the reintegration plan after release;
• Fulfillment of other obligations according to the legislation in force.
