As part of the Global Campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence”, the Acting Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, today visited the Center for the Protection of Women and Children “My Home” in Ferizaj where he met with the director, Ms. Sevdije Kasumi-Bunjaku.
During the visit, Minister Sallahu was closely acquainted with the work, services and commitment of the shelter staff in supporting women and children seeking safety and protection. He appreciated their role and emphasized the importance of state institutions always being close to the mechanisms that work every day to prevent and address violence.
“The phenomenon of domestic violence is a broad concept and requires awareness; thus, it is important that we all engage in preventing violence against women,” said Sallahu.
Finally, Minister Sallahu reiterated the determination of the Ministry of Justice to strengthen protection policies, institutional coordination and service standards for all victims of violence.
