As part of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”, the Acting Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, conducted a working visit to the family business of Ms. Fatime Limaj, a farmer and activist known for her continuous commitment to empowering women in rural areas.
During the visit, Minister Sallahu praised her work and model, emphasizing that the case of Ms. Limaj is a clear example of what can be achieved with honest work, dedication and continuous commitment. He said that Ms. Limaj’s family business, where the entire family is engaged, represents a sustainable model of rural entrepreneurship and an example of how collective work and dedication create new development opportunities.
Ms. Limaj is a person with special needs and the president of the association “Fatjona”, which includes women engaged in agricultural products, handicrafts, traditional foods, and other activities. They were present at the meeting with Minister Sallahu, during which they spoke about their experiences, challenges, and achievements in their private businesses.
Together with the women of the organization, Ms. Limaj has participated in dozens of fairs and events that support women and local economic development.
