The Acting Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, participated in the closing conference of the joint EU/Council of Europe project “Project against Economic Crime” (РЕСК), which is currently in the third phase of implementation.

Minister Sallahu, in his speech, initially expressed gratitude for the 14-year cooperation with the Council of Europe, through which there have been achieved a series of concrete achievements that have transformed the capacities of our institutions and brought Kosovo closer to European standards.

“I would like to emphasize that the Ministry of Justice has already sent a request to the EU for the 4^th phase of PECK to be possibly incorporated into IPA 2026 – 2027”, said Minister Sallahu.

He added that this cooperation should be deepened in a new cycle that aims at: strengthening the capacities of institutions for the effective implementation of preventive measures against corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing; advancing the integrity of public officials and strengthening the mechanisms whistleblower protection and conflict of interest management; increasing the transparency in the financing of political entities; professional strengthening of law enforcement bodies for investigation of high-level corruption and money laundering cases, especially structured and complex cases; as well as increasing the transparency of beneficial ownership.

This event brought together senior public officials representing beneficiary institutions, relevant ministers, the private sector, law enforcement bodies, the EU and international donor community, as well as the Council of Europe.
