The new Minister of Justice was sworn in, in an official ceremony held yesterday. The former Acting Minister Blerim Sallahu handed the responsibilities and duties of the ministry over to the new minister, Donika Gërvalla, who is also the Deputy/Prime Minister of the Government of Kosovo.
On this occasion, the Minister Gërvalla stressed the importance and the role of the Ministry of Justice as a key state structure, in the institutional consolidation and strengthening the rule of law.
“I am mindful of the crucial role that this department as a key state structure plays in its consolidation and the staunch commitment to creating strong institutions, enforceable law and equal justice for all,” said Minister Gërvalla.
She, also, said the justice was the cornerstone of the Republic, adding justice reforms were a testimony of the Kosovo Government’s determination to build a state in which the law is applied indiscriminately, in which responsibility is not evaded and justice knows no name, position or influence.
“This is our struggle for justice, institutional dignity and citizens’ trust. No one is above the law. This is the principle guiding our cause and the guarantee that the Republic of Kosova will always stay stronger; will be more just and prouder of each and every citizen. “, said Minister Gërvalla.
