During her visit to the Municipality of Gjilan today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, observed the work of the Regional Office of the Kosovo Probation Service.

Minister Gërvalla emphasized the importance of this institution, describing it as a key link in the supervision and implementation of alternative measures to imprisonment.

Further, she spoke about the effective functioning of the justice system.

“A justice system that functions effectively is measured by its ability to ensure the implementation of the law and to enable the successful reintegration of persons under supervision into society,” said Minister Gërvalla.

In this context, Minister Gërvalla emphasized that strengthening the Probation Service remains a priority through increasing professional efficiency, developing training for staff and creating conditions for the most effective implementation of measures in practice.

“At the same time, our commitment will continue toward modernizing infrastructure and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation with the courts, the prosecution offices, and correctional institutions, as a prerequisite for a justice system that functions effectively and serves citizens directly,” said Minister Gërvalla.
