As part of her visit to Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, held a meeting with the Director-General of the European Commission for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Mr. Gert Jan Koopman.
During the meeting, discussions focused on justice reform processes, including the vetting process, the operationalization of the State Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets, and a package of five draft laws aimed at strengthening institutional integrity and ensuring the long-term transformation of the justice system in the Republic of Kosovo.
“In this context, I emphasized that justice reforms aim to increase citizens’ access to justice and strengthen the integrity, professionalism, and accountability of judicial institutions, as part of a more functional and reliable system,” Minister Gërvalla said.
The Minister also underlined the importance of the continued support from the European Union in advancing the rule of law and meeting standards related to the European integration process, reaffirming the unwavering European approach of the Republic of Kosovo.
