Today, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla together with the Deputy Minister of Justice Genc Nimoni held a meeting with the new Head of the Kosovo Judicial Council, Rrustem Thaqi.

On this occasion, Minister Gërvalla and Deputy Minister Nimoni congratulated the Head Thaqi on his new assignment, wishing him success in exercising his mandate and fulfilling his responsibilities in the function of strengthening the judicial system.

During the meeting, Minister Gërvalla emphasized the importance of strengthening the institutional coordination and continuous cooperation between justice institutions.

“Strengthening institutional coordination and continuous cooperation between justice institutions remain as system’s key pillars aiming for higher standards of efficiency and public trust,” said Minister Gërvalla.

She said that advancing justice reforms involves joint commitment and continued institutional engagement.

“The joint commitment to advancing justice reforms, in accordance with institutional commitments and responsibilities, through deepening reforms and strengthening capacities, remains essential for ensuring the sustainable implementation of the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo, in line with the principle ‘when the law rules, the Republic wins”, declared Minister Gërvalla.

Discussion was also made on other common interest issues aiming to increase the efficiency of justice institutions and further advance the judicial system in the Republic of Kosovo
