Today, Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. Genc Nimoni participated in a workshop dedicated to the digitalization of communication conducted between lawyers and courts, in which France’s experience with the e-Barreau platform was presented.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister Nimoni emphasized that the digitalization of justice entails not merely the integration of technology into institutional processes, but—above all—the simplification of procedures, the reduction of administrative burdens, and the improvement of access to justice.
In this regarded the minister highlighted steps taken by the Ministry of Justice that included the digitalization of criminal records through the adoption of the Law on the Central Criminal Record System of Kosovo, the licensing and certification of legal professions, the application process for the Bar Exam, and the notarial system.
Furthermore, the deputy minister informed that the new Legislative Program had envisaged new changes which, in cooperation with other relevant institutions, could serve as an opportunity to examine the necessary legal adjustments to support electronic communication between lawyers and courts.
During the workshop, Philippe Baron, Chair of the Digitalization Commission of the French National Bar Council (CNB), presented the French experience with the e-Barreau platform, which enables electronic communication between lawyers and the courts.
The Ministry of Justice remains committed to further advancing the digitalization of the justice system, with the aim of creating a more modern system, that is more efficient, and accessible to citizens and legal professionals.
