ANJF is the Executive Agency within the Ministry of Justice, the only one in the Republic of Kosovo, responsible for the organization and provision of Free Legal Aid. It exercises its function and responsibility in accordance with Law no. 04/L-017 on Free Legal Aid, which entered into force in March 2012, Law No. 08/L-035 on Amendment and Supplement to Law No. 04/L-017 on Free Legal Aid and Law No. 08/L-063 – for the Amendment and Completion of Laws related to the Rationalization and Establishment of Accountability Lines of Independent Agencies.

Free Legal Aid is offered through 7 (seven) regional offices for free legal aid which operate in: Prishtina, Mitrovica, Pejë, Prizren, Gjilan, Gjakovë and Ferizaj and through 14 (fourteen) mobile offices which operate in the following municipalities: Fushë Kosovo, Drenas, Deçan, Istog, Suharekë, Dragash, Northern Mitrovica, Zveçan, Leposaviq, Zubin Potok, Malishevë, Graçanica, Skenderaj and Kamenica.

Free Legal Aid Agency Vision and Mission
• People in need and marginalized groups in the Republic of Kosovo have equal access to justice and are offered quality Free Legal Aid by the ANJF and its supporting partners.
• ANJF is committed to providing Free Legal Aid by ensuring equal access to justice for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, especially for marginalized groups.
• ANJF remains committed to serving all those who meet the criteria defined by law to be offered Free Legal Aid, especially respecting the principles of justice and the rule of law.

In accordance with the Law on Free Legal Aid, free legal aid is provided for the following types:
– information and legal advice related to legal procedures;
– the compilation of documents and all other technical assistance related to the completion of the course; AND
– representation in Civil, Criminal, Administrative and Misdemeanor proceedings.
