5 draft laws open for public consultation, Minister Gërvalla: The rule of law, that is equal and fair for all is built, strengthened and protected by all of us together

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla said the five essential draft laws of the justice reform having been finalized were open for public consultation.
On this occasion, she invites just field professionals, researchers and professors, judges and prosecutors, representatives of civil society and the media, as well as all interested parties to send their comments in writing, within the deadline of 15 working days.

“The rule of law that is equal and fair for all is built, strengthened and protected by all of us together”, said Minister Gërvalla.
She emphasized that these five laws increase accountability and create a clearer and fairer framework for all justice system professionals.
“Each of these five laws has a specific goal. Some improve how the work of all justice system employees is evaluated and controlled; others increase the responsibility and integrity of judges and prosecutors, improve the recruitment and evaluation processes, and regulate the way disciplinary issues and professional standards are handled. While some others strengthen the institutions that support the training and management of the justice system, as well as the functioning of the Academy of Justice, but also of the Prosecutorial Council and the Judicial Council”, the Minister continued.
Finally, thanking everyone for their contribution to the improvement and strengthening of the justice system in the Republic of Kosovo, Minister Gërvalla assured that any proposal or comment received within this deadline will be treated with special attention by the working group, which will make the final consolidation of the draft laws.
