A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice between the Deputy Minister of Justice Genc Nimoni and representatives of key institutions in the justice system with the Director for the Western Balkans in the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood of the European Commission, Ms. Valentina Superti, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Kosovo.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nimoni presented the progress achieved in the justice field, in the Ministry of Justice in particular, in fulfilling the obligations stemming from the reform agenda. Among other things, Nimoni highlighted the finalization of the package of five laws stemming from the Joint Declaration of Commitment, but also the finalization of other steps within the Growth Plan, including the functionalization of the Office of the Coordinator for Protection from Domestic Violence.
On the other hand, representatives of other justice institutions in Kosovo reaffirmed their full commitment to the implementation of the reform agenda, emphasizing that reforms must be substantial, sustainable and in line with European Union standards. They appreciated the importance of the Joint Declaration of Commitment as a mechanism for institutional coordination and expressed gratitude for the continued support of the European Union.
Furthermore, Ms. Superti emphasized the importance of strengthening the rule of law in Kosovo and fulfilling the steps stemming from the reform agenda. She also reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate with Kosovo institutions in realizing the obligations arising from this agenda.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council Arian Gashi the Head of the Kosovo Judicial Council Rrustem Thaqi, the Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit Genc Rraci, the Deputy Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption Liridon Nika as well as the Supervisor of the Sector at the KPA Lindita Ademi.
