Deputy Minister of Justice Genc Nimoni participated today in the presentation of the findings of the 2025 Regional Justice Survey Report for Kosovo, conducted within the framework of a project funded by the European Union and implemented by the World Bank.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister Nimoni emphasized the importance of the report for justice institutions, noting that the findings reflect both the current state of the justice sector and citizens’ perceptions of it.
Furthermore, he stressed that the report demonstrates that justice reforms are being positively perceived and are progressing in the right direction. He added that, in recent years, the Ministry of Justice has undertaken concrete steps to reform the justice sector, particularly through reforms already implemented within the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, which are now being successfully applied in practice, as well as through other reform initiatives, including the package of laws within the framework of the Joint Commitment Declaration.
A special focus of the report is placed on the results of reform implementation, with the findings showing that the reforms are already producing tangible results and are being positively assessed by citizens, businesses, and justice sector actors themselves.
According to the report, 82% of judges and judicial staff, as well as 74% of prosecutors, believe that the reforms are moving in the right direction. Positive perceptions were also expressed by 66% of lawyers and businesses, while positive views also prevail among citizens, with 55% expressing confidence in the reform process.
Nimoni thanked international partners, the European Union and the World Bank, for their continuous support and contribution to advancing the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo.
In conclusion, Deputy Minister Nimoni reiterated the Ministry of Justice’s commitment to continuing reforms and strengthening the rule of law in order to build a fair, professional, credible, and integrity-driven justice system that serves the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
