In his speech, Deputy Minister Nimoni emphasized the importance of mediation as an opportunity to resolve disputes, where the law allows, while avoiding lengthy processes and unnecessary burdens for the parties and the courts.
“Without trust, there is no mediation. Without professionalism, there is no trust. Without integrity, there is no professionalism,” said Deputy Minister Nimoni, emphasizing the great responsibility of mediators in building citizens’ trust in this way of resolving disputes.
Further, he reiterated that the Ministry of Justice will continue to work with the justice institutions, the Chamber of Mediators and international partners to advance and promote mediation in Kosovo. In this regard, he highlighted that, in the next legislative plan, an amendment to the Law on Mediation is also foreseen.
“Mediation should not remain just an option that exists in the law. It should become an option that citizens know, trust and use. In this regard, regional cooperation is creating new bridges between institutions and professionals in the region, contributing to the development of mediation and the construction of common European standards in this field”, said Deputy Minister Nimoni.
The networking event, organized within the framework of Mediation Week, also served as an opportunity for networking and creating new contacts, with the aim of advancing cooperation and promoting mediation in Kosovo.
