Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, visited the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova today, where she was received by Chief Prosecutor Mr. Enis Gashi.

During the visit, discussions focused on the institutional functioning of the prosecution system, the challenges of ensuring efficiency and coordination in case management, as well as the importance of interinstitutional cooperation in strengthening the rule of law.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla stated that the rule of law is the pillar that keeps the state standing.

She commended the work and commitment of justice institutions in advancing reforms and strengthening institutional integrity, emphasizing that:

“The package of five laws, together with the operationalization of the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscation of Unjustifiable Assets and the Vetting process, constitutes the core architecture for strengthening integrity and consolidating the justice system,” Minister Gërvalla stated.

Furthermore, Minister Gërvalla highlighted that interinstitutional cooperation remains a key element in increasing efficiency and strengthening public trust in the justice system.

“This process necessarily relies on close interinstitutional cooperation as an essential element for increasing efficiency and strengthening trust in the rule of law.”

At the conclusion of the visit, she underscored the importance of the fair and equal implementation of the law for all citizens.

“When justice is applied without exception, the state does not merely declare itself strong — it becomes strong,” Minister Gërvalla said.
