Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, attended a farewell lunch organized by the German Embassy on the occasion of the conclusion of the mandate of the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.

Minister Gërvalla expressed her gratitude for Ambassador Orav’s sustained commitment and significant role in advancing relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union, describing him as a valuable friend of the Republic of Kosovo.

She appreciated his principled approach, open dialogue, and direct inter-institutional cooperation, which contributed to deepening trust and advancing processes of strategic importance.

“Meetings with him were always fruitful and direct, because he deeply understood Kosovo and contributed to finding the best solutions for advancing strategic processes and key reforms,” said the Minister. She particularly appreciated his contribution to supporting structural reforms, strengthening the rule of law, and clearly articulating Kosovo’s European perspective at key moments for the country.

On this occasion, Minister Gërvalla wished him success in his future engagements, thanking him for the dedication and professionalism demonstrated during his mandate in Kosovo since September 1, 2024, as well as for his tangible contribution to supporting the country’s European agenda.

“Ambassador Orav is leaving Kosovo and his official diplomatic duties, but he will always remain a true and very valuable friend of Kosovo.

Thank you, Ambassador Orav!” said Minister Gërvalla.
