Minister Gërvalla: Strengthening justice and creating institutional trust, prerequisites for a stronger and more open Kosovo to investments

The Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla hosted the American delegation, led by Mr. Robert “Bobby” Kasprzak, Mr. Roy Miller and Mr. Theodore Robert Maloney, at a meeting, in which discussion was made about the importance of the rule of law, justice reforms and the role of institutions in supporting the country’s economic development.
During the meeting, Minister Gërvalla underlined that strengthening justice and creating institutional trust are prerequisites to a have stronger government and openness to investments.
She underlined that one of the main pillars of a democratic state is an efficient, professional, reliable and integrity-based justice system, contributing as an important factor for increasing legal security for citizens, businesses and international investors.
“Justice reforms, the fight against corruption and organized crime, as well as strengthening institutional transparency and accountability, remain ongoing commitments of the Republic of Kosovo, to guarantee a system that applies the law fairly and equally”, said she.
Among other things, Minister Gërvalla argued that Kosovo provided significant opportunities for long-term partnerships and investments, relying on its young workforce, clear Euro-Atlantic orientation and the development of sectors with high potential.
“The Country and the Republic more committed to strengthening its institutions and advancing a favorable climate for investments through continuous reforms, inter-institutional cooperation and international partnerships that contribute to the development and strengthening of the country”, reconfirmed Minister Gërvalla.
