Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla participated today in the ceremony of the formation of the ranks of the Kosovo Security Force, held at the Adem Jashari Barracks, to mark the 28th anniversary of the KLA Epopee.

On this occasion, Minister Gërvalla stressed the ceremony represented not only a solemn moment, but also a great oath of an army that inherited the spirit of sacrifice, eternal courage and pride of the three days that made the history of the Kosovo Liberation Army Heroic Epopee.

“The KLA Heroic Epopee, the exemplification of the Jashari Family, and the idealism of thousands of women and men who gave everything for freedom, made the dream of a free Kosovo an eternal reality. Today, this freedom rests on the shoulders of our soldiers,” she said.

Appreciating the role of officers, non-commissioned officers and professional soldiers, Minister Gërvalla pointed out that their dedication and sacrifice deserve the deepest gratitude of the state and the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

“Thanks to your dedication, the borders of our Republic are secure and our citizens feel protected. Today, the Kosovo Army is the shield of the country and reflection of a nation that knows well the price of freedom”, declared Minister Gërvalla.

She said in addition, the determination of the soldiers to protect every inch of the territory of Kosovo is a present and future guarantee of our country’s security and sovereignty.

“The glow of the Kosovo Army today is its determination to protect every inch of this sovereign land, its entire borders. Today, tomorrow and as long as the Republic of Kosovo exists”, concluded Minister Gërvalla.
