As part of ongoing visits to justice institutions, Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, visited the Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj, where she was received by Chief Prosecutor Burim Qerkini.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the work of the institution, its achievements and challenges in the exercise of prosecutorial functions, as well as on the importance of institutional cooperation and increased efficiency in handling cases as key elements for the proper functioning of the justice system.
On this occasion, Minister Gërvalla emphasized that there is no alternative to justice reform, highlighting the importance of the package of five laws, which constitutes the foundation of the reform and one of the most important processes in strengthening and deepening the institutional framework of the justice system.
She underlined that these reforms have a direct impact on increasing efficiency, transparency, and accountability within the prosecutorial and judicial system.
“Rule of law is measured by the capacity of justice institutions to operate with responsibility, coordination, and efficiency in exercising their mandate. This is the standard upon which justice reform is being consolidated,” Gërvalla stated.
In conclusion, Minister Gërvalla said that the commitment to further advancing reforms will remain uncompromising, in support of strengthening the justice system and the rule of law in the country.
