Prishtina, 07/08/2026

The Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla described the discovery of third location of mortal remains as a testimony of crimes committed by genocide state of Serbia. The two other mass graves were discovered a few days ago.

“This discovery once again is a testament to crimes that were committed by the genocidal Serbian state, with thousands of innocent civilians, including women and children killed, disappeared and raped, while nearly a million others were forcibly expelled from their homes”, said Minister Gërvalla, emphasizing the importance of treating seriously any information that may contribute to revealing the fate of persons disappeared by force in wartime in Kosovo.

Additionally, she said efforts to hide the victims and erase traces of the crime had prolonged the pain of the families and kept the search going on.

“The Republic of Kosovo will keep searching until the fate of the last person disappeared by force is revealed and will continue to provide full support to the institutions and professionals engaged in this process”, declared Minister Gërvalla, adding that no information and no suspicious location can remain unhandled and treated with the utmost seriousness.

Field work, as the Minister said, must continue without obstacles and any relevant information must be treated until its complete exhaustion with the highest seriousness and professionalism.

“There can be no lasting peace without learning the truth, there can be no justice without assume responsibility and there can be no forgetfulness for crimes committed”, concluded Minister Gërvalla.”
