As part of her visits through justice institutions, the Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla visited today the Drenas Branch of Basic Court of Pristina, and was received by Mr. Shefqet Baleci, supervising judge, Ms. Diellza Lukaj, judge, and Mr. Arbër Beqiri.
The meeting discussed the performance of the branch, the caseload, measures being taken to increase the efficiency in handling cases and reduce the number of pending cases.
In this regard, Minister Gërvalla emphasized the importance of an efficient judicial system, considering that delays in the administration of justice directly affect citizens’ trust in state institutions.
Further, Minister Gërvalla said that justice reform, inter-institutional cooperation, transparency and continuous coordination remained key elements for building a justice system to serves citizens with professionalism, integrity and responsibility.
“There can be no strong Republic without a strong and functional justice system to keep the country going,” declared Minister Gërvalla.
