The Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla together with the Caretaker Deputy Minister of Justice Genc Nimoni visited today the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, and was received by the Chief Prosecutor, Ms. Lumturije Vuçetaj.
The meeting discussed the prosecutorial system institutional functionalization and challenges in ensuring efficiency and case handling coordination.
“The five-law package, together with the functionalization of the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets and the Vetting process, constitute the main architecture for strengthening the integrity and consolidation of the justice system”, stated Minister Gërvalla.
This process, according to her, was necessarily based on close inter-institutional cooperation, as an essential element for increasing efficiency and strengthening trust in the rule of law.
“Where justice acts without compromise, the Republic becomes stronger, institutions more reliable and citizens’ freedom more secure”, concluded Minister Gërvalla, assessing that the power of the state is not measured by words, but by the ability to make the law apply equally to everyone.
