Minister Sallahu: A priority of the Government and the Ministry of Justice remain the Centers for Social Affairs

The Acting Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, today visited the Center for Social Affairs in Prishtina where he met with the director Bajram Shala and the officials of this center.

This meeting was held within the framework of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”, where there were discussed the work, challenges and achievements of the CSA in Prishtina.

In his speech, Minister Sallahu said that the Government and the Ministry of Justice have had a priority for the Centers for Social Affairs with special emphasis on financial support, thus increasing the budget for support to 2.5 million euros per year.

Furthermore, Minister Sallahu said that there is a good language of communication between the Ministry of Justice and the CSAs, which, according to him, makes the cooperation, overcoming challenges and working with social centers easier.

Minister Sallahu said that the Centers for Social Affairs deal with the most sensitive categories in society; therefore, it is important for the Government that they receive adequate and appropriate services.

Meanwhile, the director of the CSA in Prishtina, Bajram Shala, thanked Minister Sallahu for his cooperation and at the same time emphasized that this is the first visit of a minister to this institution.
