The Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, started today’s activity as part of the Global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence”, by visiting the “SOS Villages of Kosovo”.
Welcomed by the National Director, Nezahat Ramadani Salihu, and the Director for Advocacy, Remzije Krasniqi, Minister Sallahu discuss on specific projects and the special mission of “SOS Villages of Kosovo”.
Minister Sallahu thanked the staff for their dedication and commitment to caring for children and families and encouraging them to keep up their communication and cooperation to integrate the resolution of challenges and problems in the new administrative instructions.
The Director Nezahat Ramadani Salihu expressed her gratitude for the continued support to the “SOS Villages” children pointing out the support given by the Ministry of Justice Department for Social and Family Services Policies.
She informed the minister of 6 families currently being supported by SOS Families project and the Family Empowerment program benefiting 200 families and 600 children in the psychosocial aspect, education, legal support, health support and support in the economic empowerment of families. Family Empowerment program includes families facing many challenges as a result of which they risk losing parental care.
In addition to these achievements, the Minister Sallahu congratulated the director on the employment of 200 young people and the provision of various grants that affect their empowerment.
The “SOS Children’s Villages” Foundation is a non-governmental social care organization dedicated to supporting abandoned and needy children.
