The Acting Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, visited the Correctional Center in Smrekonica today, where he met with Director Avni Miftari, the correctional and civilian staff.

The meeting was part of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.”

On this occasion, Minister Sallahu said he was pleased with cooperation offered by this Correctional Center and highlighted the Ministry’s continuous efforts in creating legal acts that ensure the voice of women and girls is heard without exception.

In this context, increasing the employment of women and girls in the Smrekonica Correctional to eliminate the challenge and the lack of employed women in this institution. was also discussed.

Director Miftari and other officials present at the meeting highly appreciated the Ministry’s cooperation with and commitment to the Correctional Center in Smrekonica.
