Prishtina, 24/04/2026

After delivery of the verdict on the terrorist attack in Banjska, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, said the justice has been partially served today in the Republic of Kosovo.

In this regard minister Gërvalla said while the life sentence prison against Blagoje Spasojević and Vladimir Tollić, as well as the sentence of Dušan Maksimović to 30 years in prison, did address the responsibility it couldn’t undo the aggressive attack on the Republic of Kosovo, which was resolutely repelled by our country’s authorities.

“The verdicts on the terrorist attack in Banjska cannot bring back to life the Hero of Kosovo Afrim Bunjaku, the police sergeant who fell while defending constitutional order and security of the country,” said Minister Gërvalla.

In her words, in spite of delivered verdicts the fact remained that Serbia prepared, organized, supported and financed this attack, and the danger is still present.

“Verdicts failed to alter reluctance of a part of the international community to call the attack by its name: the attack was an attack, the murder was a murder, the aggression was aggression, an open aggressive attack by the Serbian state against the Republic of Kosovo,” Minister Gërvalla further stated.

Minister Gërvalla, went on saying, the justice could not remain partial and that all those involved in the attack, including the organizer and leader of this group Milan Radoićić, had to be extradited and brought to justice in the Republic of Kosovo.

“The Kosovo Republic institutions will not stop until everyone responsible for this crime, as well as for any other crime against our Republic, no matter of their names, positions, influence or the role behind the scenes, is brought to justice,”, emphasized Minister Gërvalla, adding Kosovo guarantees a fair and transparent trial, in accordance with international standards.

In conclusion, Minister Gërvalla reiterated the Republic of Kosovo would continue to demand accountability, without compromise, for any act violating the constitutional order and the security of citizens.
