Genc Nimoni is the first Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Justice, appointed on February 20, 2026.
He completed his bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Law, University of Prishtina (UP), and subsequently earned a master’s degree in Civil Law from the same institution, obtaining the title of Master of Legal Sciences in Civil Law.
Mr. Nimoni further PURSUED advanced studies and professional specialization in the USA, WHERE he ATTENDED and COMPLETED a Master’s program IN RULE OF LAW AND GOOD GOVERNANCE (Ohio Northern University, 2020). THERE, he also specialized in Legal Pedagogy.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Nimoni has made significant contributions to the development of public policies, the drafting of primary and secondary legislation, and the strengthening of transparency and accountability within the justice system.
For several years, Mr. Nimoni WAS actively engaged in civil SOCIETY organizations, HOLDING VARIOUS LEADERSHIP POSITIONS. He SERVED as Head of the Legal Office and Manager of the Court Monitoring Project at the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN), as Executive Director of the Kosovo Institute for Justice, and as a civil society activist and program leader in initiatives related to the RULE OF law, anti-corruption, good governance, and the protection of children’s rights.
From 2021 until his appointment as First Deputy Minister, he SERVED at the Ministry of Justice as Chief of Cabinet and Senior Advisor, contributing to the development and implementation of justice sector policies and reforms.
Mr. Nimoni is the author of numerous articles and reports in the field of justice.
