The duties of the State Advocacy are:

• Representation of public/budgetary authorities in judicial, administrative and arbitration procedures (in Kosovo and before the courts of other states and international ones);
• Preparation of lawsuits, responses to lawsuits, complaints, responses to complaints and other submissions and necessary legal actions, etc.;
• Representation of public authorities in mediation as well as alternative dispute resolution procedures, within the limits of the delegated authority;
• Legal advice, recommendations, instructions, opinions, in the interest of protecting the public/budgetary authorities of the Republic of Kosovo;
• Conveying, examining and analyzing relevant evidence and in dispute of this also of legal provisions, in the interest of defining the strategies of representation, counseling and protection of public/budgetary authorities;
• Cooperation with all parties that are subject to the procedure, including contact officers and experts in the relevant fields of the public/budgetary authorities of the Republic of Kosovo, before and during the judicial representation process.
